Upcoming Activities for the Lake Victoria Basin Integrated Water Resources Management Programme

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Programme Coordination Unit aims to make progress by continuing its facilitation of the programme’s high-level meetings, organising webinars, signing three Projects and Funding Agreements with the National Project Executing Agencies in Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.  

 

We have made a start on the detailed design and procurement process for 3 of the 4 High Priority Investments (HPIs). Identification studies for the new HPI for Kampala are underway with regular monitoring virtual meetings between the key stakeholders. A call for new projects in the Partner States of Uganda and Rwanda has been launched and project proposals are awaited, and the WIS Database Platform Phase-I has been established. Stakeholders’ consultations on the LVB IWRM strategy are under development and are also ongoing.
